A man has been arrested after the tyres of the ute he was driving were blown out during a police chase on the Gold Coast. 7NEWS filmed the man being pursued at low speed by police on the M1 at Palm Beach about 10am on Monday.

It has not been revealed why police began pursuing the man about 20 minutes before he was arrested when he crashed southbound on the M1 in Palm Beach. He is yet to be charged, with investigations ongoing. Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said police would investigate whether the man was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.
