A woman has been seriously injured when she was allegedly thrown to the ground by a man during an argument before a children’s dance competition on the Gold Coast. The woman, her son and granddaughter parked at Elanora State School on Saturday morning for the girl’s competition when the woman accidentally damaged a vehicle while opening her car door. The 43-year-old man in the other car allegedly demanded an immediate $50 payment for the damage.
He told 7NEWS he could see his mother and the man in the car mirrors when the man allegedly attacked her. “They’re in full view of the mirror, and I’ve seen him just, what I can only call a judo throw,” he told 7NEWS. “He’s grabbed her by the shoulders, put his leg out ... thrown her to the ground.” He accused the man of running from the scene and claimed his mother was knocked out by his alleged actions. She was taken to Robina Hospital by ambulance.
