Melbourne drivers are the next in line to benefit from petrol prices at one service station dropping to 99c per litre. Queues of cars are expected at Metro Petroleum on Mahoneys Rd in Thomastown, in Melbourne’s north, on Tuesday. Motorists will be able to fill up on a variety of cut-price fuels — including petrol, diesel and gas — at the bargain price between 3pm and 5pm. The deal is part of a promotion between rewards club Dreams Come True and Metro Petroleum.
” After launching the offer last month, DCT said the 99c per litre sale would occur at a different Metro Petroleum servo on the first Tuesday of each month, in line with the Reserve Bank of Australia’s interest rate meetings. There were huge lines of thirsty cars when the promotion was run for the first time in Sydney’s southwest. Outside of the sale hours, unleaded petrol was advertised at Metro Petroleum Punchbowl for 192.
