A man has been charged with murdering a woman whose body was found in a home in Tweed Heads on the NSW-Queensland border. The 60-year-old woman’s body was found at the Lakes Dr home about 5.50pm on Wednesday. Police discovered the body after receiving a call expressing concern for her welfare.
The nature of the woman’s injuries have not been revealed but she has not been able to be formally identified. Police cordoned off the house and have been examining the scene. After the body was discovered, police inquiries led officers to find the injured 25-year-old man at a business on Kennedy Dr. He was put under police guard at Tweed Heads Hospital but was released on Thursday morning, when he was charged with murder. He is due to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday.
