The father of a 26-year-old woman hit by a rollercoaster at the Melbourne Royal Show on Sunday said she remains in coma with 'horrific' injuries and there's 'hardly a thing that's not broken'.

A 26-year-old woman who was struck by a rollercoaster at the Melbourne Royal Show on Sunday is fighting for life in hospital after suffering"horrific" injuries to her arms, legs, back and neck.

"Obviously I can't talk to my daughter. She's going to be in a coma for quite a while," he told the publication. "It appears, at this early stage, the woman, believed aged in her 20s, may have walked on and entered the track to try and retrieve a dropped phone before she was hit by a rollercoaster carriage, about 5:45pm," Victoria Police said in a statement.The Rebel Coaster ride was cordoned off as emergency services responded to the incident. What sort of world are we living in where you can't climb a barrier fence meant to stop you, and walk into the path of a rollercoaster without getting hurt.

If only they had some sort of fence or gaurd to stop people walking onto the track.

That is why the fences are there

I can’t believe she risked her life for a phone…. What’s this world coming to 🤦‍♂️
