The Big Picture The long-awaited, much-anticipated remake of the 1922 classic Nosferatu is coming to our screens on Christmas Day. A holiday gift just for us from the director and most obvious choice for this concept, Robert Eggers, who has already given us The Witch and The Lighthouse. A loose retelling of Dracula by Bram Stoker, though for legal reasons, not an adaptation, is the story of a monstrous vampire and his torment of an unfortunate woman.
Shadow of the Vampire RDramaHorror Director F.W. Murnau is determined to create the most authentic vampire film ever made, "Nosferatu." To achieve this, he hires the enigmatic and eerie Max Schreck to play the lead role, Count Orlok. Schreck's performance is disturbingly realistic, leading the cast and crew to suspect that he might be a real vampire. As production progresses, Murnau's obsession with his film leads to increasingly dangerous and bizarre events on set.

However, it's implied that he was, a very long time ago.
