They were selected by the City of Miami Beach’s Art in Public Places programme in concurrence with the $620m revamp of the 1950s Miami Beach Convention Center, completed last year by American firm Fentress Architects. Having cost $7m , the series represents the largest public art project of its kind in American history installed on a single site – that is, while it’s still afloat.
