– The Manobo tribe story, presented by the Trento National High School from Agusan del Sur province, was chosen as this year’s Adolescent Health and Development regional 2019 Best Documentary Film awardee.This was announced by Regional Director Alexander A. Makinano of the Commission on Population and Development , on Thursday.
‘Bugsay’ narrates the story of the Manobo tribe, who despite being in a remote situation, thrives in floating houses, he said.The documentary follows the routine of Manobo children paddling from their respective floating homes to the floating school. The pupils paddle their own boats, putting their lives at risk as there are also crocodiles in the water, the same swamp forest where Lolong, the largest crocodile recorded in the world, was discovered.
