Korea’s ‘Parasite’ poised to be No. 1 top-grossing foreign movie in North America this year

Korean director’s Bong Joon-ho’s latest masterpiece raked in $11.7 million in the US and Canada markets as of Nov. 11 or 32 days since it was released in North America on Oct. 11, according to Box Office Mojo.

Internationally, “Parasite” grossed $95.62 million for a total worldwide earnings of $106.94 million. The film has raked in many awards after it won the prestigious Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival last May. It won best film at the Buil Film Awards, Korean Association of Film Critics Awards and Sydney Film Festival.
