Rapper Ice Spice announced to Hoda & Jenna that she plans to release a new album this year called “Y2K.” “It’s almost finished, so, I’m really excited,” she says.

Summer is already in full swing and Ice Spice has declared the song of the season. The rapper was asked by TODAY while on the 2024 BET Awards red carpet what she thought was the song of the summer. Her response? “I think it’s ‘Espresso,’” she said, naming Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song. “I don’t think we have a choice. It’s ‘Espresso,’ yeah.” The “Barbie World” rapper had quite the night at the June 30 awards show.

1 spot for a sixth week on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. Carpenter is on a roll, earning her first No. 1 song on the Hot 100 chart with her latest single “Please Please Please,” which includes rumored beau Barry Keoghan in the music video. Billboard also notes that Carpenter is the first artist to place at No. 1 and No. 2 on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. concurrently for two weeks. Both songs are included in the former Disney Channel star’s upcoming album, “Short n’ Sweet.
