Social Media Reacts To Supreme Court's Trump Immunity Ruling

After the ruling, many people took to X, formerly Twitter, to gripe about the ruling and speculate on its ramifications.I just want to take a step back and say that I think the Supreme Court just fundamentally altered the structure and nature of democracy in America. It awards the president the measure of power and immunity that is much, much closer to a king or emperor than an elected official.

And no credible argument can be made that the Founders intended the POTUS to have such unfettered power.Today's SCOTUS ruling tears down one of the first principles of American democracy: that no man is above the law. To say the president has immunity from prosecution for any acts committed in their official capacity while in office is a wide open invitation to dictatorship. And in…President Biden: fire the Court and appoint one that doesn’t work for Trump. Or rescind their immunity ruling.
