Written and directed by Daniel Kokotajlo, Starve Acre is an unsettling folk horror. It’s based on Andrew Michael Hurley’s 2019 novel of the same name. It’s being distributed by Brainstorm Media, having had a successful festival run.
When their son starts acting strangely, a couple unwittingly allow dark and sinister forces into their home. This awakens a long-dormant ancient evil rooted deep in rural Yorkshire during the 1970s. The film also stars Erin Richards, Sean Gilder, Robert Emms, Roger Barclay, and Maltilda Firth. It’s produced by Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, Derrin Schlesinger, and Emma Duffy.Neil became a horror fan from just a nightmare-inducing glimpse of the Ghoulies VHS cover and a book on how to draw ghosts. It escalated from there and now that's almost all he writes and talks about.
