The 9 To 5 singer was recruited to promote the latest series of Welcome To Wrexham.

Dolly Parton has said she was 'tickled' to learn about her Welsh heritage in an upcoming documentary. The 9 To 5 singer made the discovery in a series expected to air later this year. And now owners of North Wales-based club Wrexham AFC have recruited the country singer due to her newly discovered credentials. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney asked for Parton's help in promoting the new series of the Disney+ documentary Welcome To Wrexham.

'You may have seen my recent announcement about possibly having Welsh ancestry,' Parton says. 'I was tickled to learn that. And I was even more tickled when I received a lovely gift from the Welsh Board of Tourism and Docudramas.' Holding a Wrexham AFC scarf, she adds: 'They sent me this beautiful scarf and asked if I'd say a few words about Wales'.
