A Perth man has been found guilty of murdering his lover, because she refused to terminate her pregnancy. After a mammoth seven-week trial, the Supreme Court jury found Hassan Jabbie brutally killed Janet Dweh, in October 2021. The 52-year-old man struck the Dayton mother more than 30 times with a claw hammer. Outside court, Dweh’s family friend Richard Barney said “what we wanted has happened”. ”We wanted justice and Janet has had justice today,” he said.
He called Dweh a “harlot” and a “disgrace to humanity”, warning if their affair became public “it will be ugly”. During the trial, the court heard Jabbie confessed his crime to an undercover police officer while in a prison cell. He told the officer he had buried evidence in bushland behind his Ellenbrook house. Detectives searched the area and uncovered the murder weapon, blood-stained clothing, and part of Dweh’s security camera system.
