Friday marks the end of an era as Pat Sajak, the beloved host of "Wheel of Fortune" for more than four decades, retires from the iconic game show.
In an interview with CBS 21, contestant Heather Zell from Harrisburg shared her unforgettable experience from Pat's final season on the show. Heather Zell, whose appearance on "Wheel of Fortune" aired back in January, described the opportunity to compete on the show as a dream come true."To watch him in action was fascinating,” Zell said, reflecting on her time interacting with Pat. “He doesn’t really use too many cue cards, he doesn’t have a prompter, he’s very quick with wit. He made fun of me a lot in my episode, which I know my entire family and friend base appreciated because now they have that forever.
Though Zell walked away with over $17,000 in winnings, she said the best part was the friendships she forged and the memories she created during her time on the show. Zell says that participating in Pat's final season added an extra layer of importance to her journey.
