Son of country music legend locked in a battle for his life. Here’s the latest

Brian Linder | blinder@pennlive.comThe 69-year-old son of late country music legend Loretta Lynn appeared in a Facebook video posted by his wife, Crystal, in which he addressed fans for the first time.“Hey, for all y’all that have been praying for me and stuff, I appreciate it and love y’all for it,” he said. “I’m getting better. I just had some heart surgery and stuff. I’m getting a little better every day. Thank y’all for praying for me. God bless you.

The world first learned that much — what Ernie was up against — back in January when Loretta Lynn’s social media accounts announced that he was heading into the hospital for a “critical surgery,” in the fight. And for a time in January things were not looking good for Ernie. But he made a miraculous recovery and returned home where he appeared to be doing well until two weeks ago.

She added that he will be “surrounded by family who will carefully provide the delicate support that he needs.”
