Country music legend’s son had surgery Sunday, continues to battle for life

Loretta Lynn waves to the crowd after performing during the Americana Music Honors and Awards show Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, in Nashville, Tenn.. Sunday was a big day for Ernie Lynn, the son of late country music legend Loretta Lynn, as he continues to fight for his life against kidney failure.

The 69-year-old Lynn has had a particularly rough go of things in 2024, and for a time in January it wasn’t looking good for him. But he made a miraculous recovery and returned home where he appeared to be doing well until last week. Crystal and Ernie have been open about their faith, and she has shared their belief that God helped bring Ernie through his issues in January.

“I think that we are finally headed in the right direction,” she wrote. “We appreciate all of your concern and continued prayers for complete healing. Thank you all … God bless.”
