Comedian Alex Mitchell broke down in tears after his successful audition on Britain's Got Talent, as he revealed he went to the ITV talent show alone due to being nervous

A Britain’s Got Talent audition ended in tears after the judges told a comedian he was "worth the wait". Alex Mitchell, whose audition was shown in Saturday's show, was left tearful following his successful performance.

"Honestly I didn't stop laughing from start to finish, that was an amazing set," Amanda, 52, told Alex. Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno added: "Your writing is brilliant, you are a great comedian." Simon then took the phone and spoke to Alex's mum about his success on BGT. The proud mum gushed: "I can't believe it, that's fabulous, I am so pleased and so proud, I want to give you the biggest hug ever."
