Bridgerton fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the hit Netflix series after a long break, and the third series of the hit period drama will focus mainly on Galway woman Nicola Coughlan 's character.
Lifting the lid on what's to come this series, Nicola revealed: "Having a united front was very important to us... I really loved the one from Atonement, and it’s wild when you watch that back, how little you actually see and how much is in your imagination." Speaking to Town and Country, Luke added that the sex scenes on Bridgerton will reflect their character's chemistry by being 'awkward and quirky.' The actor explained: "There’s humor in it, where they just laugh at each other and it’s so genuine. It really has a sense of showing their friendship from the start. Me and Nic wanted to honor that and keep that in the show."
Nicola says Penelope, who has made her peace with being a spinster, is the show’s most modern heroine so far. She said: “She doesn’t just want marriage and love, she wants a career. I think everyone can relate to the love story – for women it’s hard to have it all." But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise , who has found a new friend in an unlikely place while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.
