The lucky winner of a $4.8 million Set For Life prize says she almost didn’t purchase a ticket but was compelled to do so by an “overwhelming sense” and a “weird” feeling. On Tuesday, officials from The Lott were still hunting for the winner, who had yet to claim their prize of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years. But on Wednesday, a woman from Langwarrin came out of the woodwork to say she was the holder of the lucky ticket.
She said she almost didn’t buy a ticket for Monday night’s draw, but that an “overwhelming” feeling had compelled her to do so. “I wasn’t feeling myself when I purchased the Set for Life ticket on Saturday, and I had no emotional energy. I couldn’t be bothered to get out of the house,” she said. “But I had this overwhelming sense to go get the ticket. I had this weird vibe that my numbers would win. I can’t describe it. I said to myself ‘don’t be pathetic, get out of the house’.
