Chicago to sue Jussie Smollett for $130,000 spent investigating alleged hate crime

Joe Magats, the first assistant state attorney in Illinois, told ABC Chicago station WLS, "We stand behind the investigation and the facts revealed," and, "We believe he did what he was charged with doing," and, "This was not an exoneration. To say that he was exonerated by us or anyone is not true."

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said dropping the charges against Smollett "is without a doubt a whitewash of justice." A federal investigation into a threatening letter investigators say was part of the hoax is still underway. "Empire" is produced by 21st Century Fox, now part of the Walt Disney Co., also the parent company of ABC News.

WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND, why isn’t anybody asking. If JussieSmollett is so innocent like he claims, why isn’t he suing the brothers for defamation and seeking justice to lock them up for attacking him! I’d be a little bit more mad at the brothers. Why go after the city?!

He not only needs to pay, JussieSmollett needs to apologize to the great City of Chicago for orchestrating a fake hate crime, wasting valuable city resources and potentially harming people who encounter real hate crimes.

Does trump have to pay for the Mueller report? That was also an investigation with not enough evidence to get a conviction in court?
