The Flame Foundation will host its first Cocina Flamenca Live festival at the Latino Cultural Center. Local and special guest flamenco artists and musicians will be featured, including flamenco guitarist Guillermo Guillen, flamenco singer Jose Cortes, and dancers from Flamenco DNA,“Flamenco has a spectacular mystique that combines dance and music with gypsy songs, it is a dance that was born in Andalusia, in Spain, from oppressed people of all religions, and among all developed this art,” Buitron said.
In addition to artistic demonstrations, attendees can enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine, such as paella and tapas, which will be prepared on-site in traditional pans. Sangria will also be served. Food and drink options range from $5 to $10.Established in 2009, the Flame Foundation has dedicated its efforts to providing flamenco classes for people of all ages, and promoting dance through the Dallas Flamenco Festival, showcasing top performances and workshops by international guest artists.
