Hawthorn triple premiership hero Jack Gunston is expected not to feature in the club’s blockbuster MCG clash on Easter Monday clash. In fact, coach Sam Mitchell has already made the harsh call and sent Gunston to the VFL. The 32-year-old forward is playing against Geelong at GMHBA stadium . He was named on the bench when the Box Hill Hawks released their line-up.
Now, Gunston is facing the confronting reality that he might not be in the rebuilding Hawthorn’s best team either. Last week when Hawthorn was torched by Melbourne, Gunston started as the sub. He had just two touches for the game and did not score. Coach Sam Mitchell played alongside Gunston in Hawthorn’s incredible three-peat from 2023-15.
