Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has been praised for 'stepping in' to defend a teenage girl caught up in a brawl 'over boys' outside her home in Stockport. The mother of the 15-year-old girl told the Sun that she is 'extremely grateful' to the soap star for intervening.
In the video, it appears that her hair was pulled and she was punched as she wrestled a youth during the brawl. Tina was given time off work after the alleged incident which left her 'traumatised', the Mail reports, with ITV bosses said to be supporting the actress.The mother of the alleged victim has now spoken out. She told the Sun: "Tina has been pretty brave in stepping in. Tina is only little herself and she was defending my daughter, so I am extremely grateful to her.
A source close to the actress also said she had been left 'deeply disturbed' by the incident, according to reports. Tina rose to fame as Sarah Platt in Coronation Street after joining the cobbles when she was 16. She lives with her husband Adam Crofts and her two children.
