Ahead of the Oscars 2024, pop culture commentator Evan Ross Katz hands out his alternative Academy Awards for British Vogue, and this time, ‘Saltburn’ does not miss out on a statue.

At the 96th Academy Awards tomorrow night, as is customary, the winners in categories such as Best Actor and Best Cinematography will finally be revealed. The awards are celebratory and congenial, but also a bit predictable, if we’re being honest, in that most prizes are a lock weeks if not months before the ceremony.

The two work in close tandem, meaning no outside opinions or voices. “We are doing the looks we do, as put it recently, ‘just for us’,” Goldberg says. Asked for a favourite among the lot – which has included this Bottega Veneta bouclé dress that had me levitating, as well as looks from Loewe, Prada, Proenza Schouler and The Row – Goldberg selects the bespoke red Loewe gown Lee wore for the Academy Gala.
