In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, while promoting her new movie Sleeping Dogs, Gillian was asked about her previous comments on wanting to join Gunn's DC Universe as Poison Ivy.
A great DC Universe project that Poison Ivy would fit perfectly into is the Arkham Asylum TV show from The Batman's Matt Reeves. Arkham Asylum could have Poison Ivy, in this case played by Gillan, act as one of the central characters while also exploring how she became the iconic supervillain. Since The Brave and The Bold will likely be dealing with other villains, Arkham Asylum could at least be a solid starting point for Poison Ivy before she makes the jump to the films.
It's unclear if Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn in Gunn's DC Universe or if the franchise will cast a new actress when the time comes. With someone as talented as Gillan, it would be fun to see her reunited with Gunn in the DC Universe and play a very different character from Nebula in the MCU. Given how many intriguing elements there are to explore with Poison Ivy, Gillan would be an incredible casting choice. Hopefully, Gunn will find a place for Gillan in the new DC Universe, regardless if it's as Poison Ivy or another character in the DC canon.
