For nearly 60 years the director Martin Scorsese has chronicled American life, and the violence and greed under its surface.

His latest film tells the story of a series of killings of OSage Native Americans in the early twentieth century in Oklahoma, where white Americans gained their trust, then systematically murdered them to gain control over their oil-rich land.

Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a book by the journalist David Grann, which recounts the investigation into the killings. But Scorsese centres his film around the real relationship between white American Ernest Burkhart and Osage woman Mollie Brown, who he pursues for her wealth.
