In his new book Mad House, he wrote about his parents' issues with alcohol and he said it helped teach him about being honest with himself. "When my ma died, I wanted to tell her story, but I realised I wasn't being fair to her," PJ told Patrick. "She did all these things, but she also did them with her problems, and that's part of our family story. She still managed to pull it off.""I was hiding the fact that both of my parents were really bad alcoholics," he said. "I was writing this book and leaving that out.
"I talked to my sister about it and I said, should I say something? And she was like, you can't tell the story without saying that.""Pj Gallagher’s interview had me really emotional.
