BBC hold training event after Love Island's Mike Thalassitis' death to teach producers how to deal with mental health

“We work with lots of companies to make sure how they act on all the programmes they make is consistent. It’s an important issue across the industry.”

A BBC spokesman said: “ ”Discussion and planning around care for those taking part in our programmes is always a core part of all our production when shows involve members of the public.

“We continue to work with independent producers, external specialists and others in the industry to develop best practice in this area.

zaraholland11 It's not the shows fault , it's the deeply troubled contestants that seek fame then can't handle it . Don't enter the lion's den if you can't handle cats .

davidjeaster1 They couldn’t have helped them when they left the show. It makes me so angry. Have never watched it and never will 😞

davidjeaster1 This annoys me. You can't blame. The show love island just because the two people who committed suicide was on the show can happen to anyone ... 🤔

Bit fuckin late ay it when he’s already suffered and gone honestly this has proper got to me how can someone who’s got so much going for him feel like this is the only way out I met him once only briefly but he was such a polite man fuckin heartbreaking this is Rip mike 😥😥😥😥

jennyansah111 I also think every realityshow shld adopt the script (or similar) which the voiceover says before every episode of towie to remind *the gullible* that the cast are real but scenes are made up for our entertainment! A reminder that it’s *real people* acting MikeThalassitis

MissMalinSara Is ITV doing the same ?
