Music Rights Malaysia says the claims by an MP were made to discredit its good name and reputation.

Music Rights Malaysia denies that it is deceiving and depriving artists and musicians of their rights.

It lodged a police report following claims of misconduct against it by Kapar MP Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday. In a statement, MRM urged the MACC and the Malaysian Intellectual Property Organisation to investigate Abdullah’s claims. “The allegations were ludicrous and slanderous in nature,” he said, adding that Abdullah should be charged with defamation.
