Argylle hasn't even come out yet, but director Matthew Vaughn already has plans for the film to sit within a larger Kingsman spy universe alongside a third franchise. After the first movie proved to be a hit in 2014, Vaughn would continue to expand the Kingsman universe with a sequel and a prequel, with another installment on the way.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Now, with the Argylle release date still months away and news on Kingsman: The Blue Blood hard to come by, Vaughn reveals in a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he has plans for a larger spy universe.
The director teases further expansions to the Argylle franchise, along with some exciting crossovers down the line. Check out Vaughn's full comment below: “Argylle, as I said, we’ve got the book coming out, and we have an Argylle 2 planned. So, there is a universe and what we’re trying to do with Marv is sort of Marvel to superheroes, we want to be spies as well. So we’ve got Kingsman on the right, Argylle’s on the left, and then we’ve got an idea for something in the middle as well. Then you’ve got these sort of competing franchises in a galaxy that one day might meet.
