Strictly fans concerned for Nancy Xu over 'bleeding neck'

Strictly Come Dancing viewers raised concerns for professional Nancy Xu during the first live show. The dancer, who is paired with Les Dennis, was seen holding a tissue against her neck on Saturday night, September 23, as she appeared to be bleeding.

Despite the incident, she waited to receive feedback for the pair's dance before chatting to Claudia Winkleman, The Mirror reports. Fans were clearly concerned for Nancy and took to Twitter to share their thoughts. One wrote: "Does Nancy have blood on her neck? #Strictly," as another added: "Hope Nancy is ok… that looks like an injury."

A third added: "Nancy is bleeding! Poor Nancy! #strictly," as a fourth wrote: "what was on the side of nancy's neck?? is my girl okay?? #strictly." A fifth penned on social media: "Has Nancy cut her neck? #Strictly." Nancy is partnered with Les Dennis for the new series and he admits this was one of the last chances for him to do the show.

Les thinks the Charleston will be the trickiest dance for him - as he's under strict orders to keep his heart rate under 140bpm. Speaking about his cardiologist's advice, he said: "I’ve got to keep my heart rate below about 140, and I don’t know whether you can do that in a 90-second very fast dance. The Charleston will be a challenge, but we’ll see. I mean, my cardiologist basically said 'I can’t give you a hundred per cent guarantee that you won’t drop dead.'"
