Summary Though Mitch Kessler's ghost lingers in the hallowed halls of UBA, The Morning Show has long outgrown its original premise by season 3. The Apple TV+ show is back without Steve Carrell, and its leading ladies are thriving more than ever, with Alex Levy closer than ever to wielding real influence at the network and Bradley Jackson finally on the evening news. There's just one problem: UBA is a sinking ship, and all its employees are in danger of going down with it.
Lauren Neustadter: Well, all credit goes to Charlotte Stoudt and our amazing writers’ room this season. Charlotte came in with such a clear take on this season, and it really felt like we had watched them grow and evolve in such incredible ways in seasons 1 and 2. She really came to us and said, “I think this is a moment in time where everyone in the world is grappling with the truth.” And what is true? Is the truth for you the same for me? And the answer obviously is no.
Lauren Neustadter: I think that there were many, many people in the cast and the producer group who really thought that Jon Hamm was the most formidable, the most magnificent, the most interesting – and we really wanted him to be a part of the world of the show. I think that, certainly, we were coming to him and saying, “Would you like to join us?” And it was so exciting that he did want to join us.
Lauren Neustadter: She’s great. I think that we were trying to reflect the world around us and the world that we were living in the storytelling.
