Nicholas Hoult Deserves Top Gun 3 After Losing Maverick & Mission: Impossible Known for his roles in the Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron-fronted action film, Mad Max: Fury Road and as Beast in Fox's soft X-Men franchise reboot, Hoult was almost in Top Gun: Maverick and the new Mission: Impossible films. He screen-tested to play Nick "Goose" Bradshaw's son, Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw in Top Gun: Maverick.
While he was interested in partaking in the acclaimed action-adventure franchise, Hoult had to unfortunately drop out because he was still attached to the Hulu show, The Great. Now that The Great has been canceled, Hoult's schedule is not as packed as it was when he was still filming a full TV series. His failed attempt to join the Top Gun and Mission: Impossible franchises can be effectively remedied if he ends up joining Top Gun 3.
What Role Nicholas Hoult Could Play In Top Gun 3 Since there is still no story for Top Gun 3, it's difficult to predict what will happen in the threequel. If the events of Top Gun: Maverick could be the basis of its sequel's narrative, however, there are several possible characters for Hoult to play. Firstly, he could be a new pilot joining Rooster's team.
