Houses shook, seagulls scattered and mouths were wide open and it could mean only one thing. The Blackpool Air Show was in town once again.
The iconic Hawk fast-jets looped, weaved, spun and circled through the skies above Blackpool Tower and out across the Irish Sea. Red, white and blue smoke billowed from the wings as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team pilots performed breath-taking manoeuvres, tricks and intricate choreography in the sky.Blackpool Air Show 2023 pictures of all the action and crowds on day one including Red Arrows
Other displays to take to the skies on Saturday afternoon included the striking yellow and silver Swordfish & Reliant, Ravens in perfect formation and the Muscle Pitts. The AeroSuperBatic Wingwalkers and Red Devil Parachute Team also did not appear on Saturday, but hopes are high that with lighter winds forecast for Sunday, they will be able to entertain the masses on the second day.
