The One Show has been axed from BBC One tonight as the channel mixes up its schedule. Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones announced on the programme that The One Show would not air on Friday, July 14.
Saying goodbye to viewers at the end of The One Show on Thursday, July 13, Alex told viewers they would see them again on Monday as the show was not airing on Friday, Wales Online reports. The One Show will not air on Friday, July 14, as BBC One is showing Wimbledon 2023 from 7pm to 9pm and BBC Two is showing BBC Proms 2023 from 7pm to 9pm.
The One Show will return to its normal 7pm slot on BBC One on Monday, July 17. In recent weeks The One Show has been dropped from schedules, along with flagship soap EastEnders, or moved to BBC Two while BBC One provides coverage of the tennis. Recently, Alex Jones faced her former boyfriend Steve Jones on The One Show when Steve, who is from Ferndale in Rhondda, was on the BBC evening show to promote his first novel, Call Time, and was quizzed by Ammanford's Alex about the book and also his role hosting motor-racing.
The Welsh presenters dated for three years between 1999 and 2002, and split after Steve stood in for her for an interview with an A-lister. But the pair seemed to have put their past firmly behind them, sharing a friendly exchange on the sofa with Alex saying she was hooked on the novel.
