The Anchorage Folk Festival returns in 2023 in its traditional home in mid-January with a two-weekend festival that starts Friday. There are plenty of other late-night entertainment options in Anchorage as well as a featured performance by Recycled Percussion, a group of “junk rockers.”Anchorage Folk FestivalThe first weekend features guest artist Mile Twelve, performing at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub with Cold Country.
Tickets are $20. There are also several free events over the course of the weekend starting Friday, from main stage performances at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium to dozens of workshops at the nearby UAA Professional Studies building. Next week also features Folkweek, with performances at locations like Hearth, Middle Way Cafe, Reilly’s Irish Pub and Sleepy Dog Coffee. There will also be a bagpipe competition and community jams.
