Scientists uncover hexokinase 2's role in microglial activity

Developmental trajectory analyses were executed by Monocle 2. To reduce noises caused by abundant genes, high-variance genes were selected for downstream DDRTree construction and cell ordering.MitoROS was measured using MitoSOX . Briefly, primary microglia were loaded with 5 μM MitoSOX at 37 °C for 20 min, and then washed by PBS two times.

. A camera was placed beneath the grid to record video for assessing errors of the left forelimb during the first 100 steps. For the cylinder test , mice were placed in a transparent cylinder and video-taped for 10 min as described previously. All paw contacts with the cylinder wall during vertical exploration were recorded. Forelimb asymmetry index for mice was calculated as:Mice were placed individually into the centre of a square open field and allowed to explore for 10 min.

Median raphe serotonergic neurons projecting to the interpeduncular nucleus control preference and aversion - Nature CommunicationsAppropriate processing of value information is essential for survival. Here the authors show that in mice, serotonergic activations originating from the median raphe nucleus facilitated aversion in a pathway-dependent manner, while silencing this pathway was rewarding. physorg_com HokkaidoUni NatureComms Good news!!
