HMV will be sadly missed by me. I’ve recently rediscovered physical music. It’s a great way of widening your musical horizons. There’s nothing better than rifling through CDs and taking a punt on something you think you might like. You get some crap but you also find some gems.

Lots of people still buy CDs and DVDs, I love going on my local store and buying vinyl etc. Plus always make a trip into Oxford Street HMV when I’m in London. This is such a shame
I don't know anyone who buys CDs or DVDs anymore! People play music on their phones with a bluetooth speaker or via some home network device such as Amazon Alexa. All new cars have bluetooth as well so no need for CDs there. There market just isn't there anymore.
It opened a new store in Wigan a month ago and honestly shouldn't have bothered; it's like a charity shop selling bargain bin CDs and DVDs.
Such a shock when well known established high street names fall into financial difficulties. As the report suggests - high rents plus other reasons have caused this to happen.
Wow. I honestly thought HMV bowed out 40 years ago.
