After years of silence on the project, the Ark: The Animated Series trailer has arrived, revealing the first proper look at Netflix's latest video game adaptation. The series will be based on the Studio Wildcard game of the same name, with game creators Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak having developed the show, while Marguerite Bennett, best known for her wok on the Josie and the Pussycats and A-Force comics, is writing with Kendall Deacon Davis.

The video reveals that the story will center on Helena Walker, a woman grieving over the death of her wife who attempts to commit suicide and wakes up on The Island, one of the game's more iconic maps, and must quickly adapt to her dangerous surroundings and becomes involved in a war for power.
While the live-action field has still proven rocky for the streamer, as the Resident Evil show only lasted for one season before being canceled, the more recent indication of Netflix's strength in adaptation video games was Arcane.
