After all what happens this week.people still read that paper?

The writer has a point. Quite the irony that reggae, inherently anti-Babylon, finds itself conquered and coopted by Babylon. The bulldog of social commentary, now subdued as a house pet. Such are the times.

What does this mean dwo God?

Reggae was created by innovative Jamaican producers and studio musicians. Special mention to the original skatalites and the upsetters. Prince Buster, Dodd, Lee Perry.. big up. And many other. The 'rebel' singers and content is one aspect but shouldn't define the whole.

No it doesn't great music though.

It is simply a dreadful noise

Big up Sizzla, Buju, the Marley brothers, Capleton, Luciano, Moja, Ifrica, Cure, Beres, D E Brown, Tarrus and all the great artists around the world keeping the movement alive. Big Dotun.

Yet if it wasn't given any approval we'd here about how racist everything is and how black culture is ignored.

Dear Guardian, You ARE the establishment.

Quite true. I was really shocked when I heard of UNESCO declaration by BBCWorld BBCNewsDay

I think the movement has transitioned from this...

Of course if it was ignored and not acknowledged but the establishment it would be a sign a systemic racism. You can’t win with these people!

Get up, stand up! Stand up for [Our] rights!

Religious music and rebel music.

It all get watered down, commercialised and becomes just more radio fodder. Happened to rock n roll and Punk too.

A La La La La Long A La La La La Long Long Li Long Long Long.

Bob Marley's estate will be getting a bill from UNESCO

Yet its biggest band is from California, led by a heroine junkie who led a revolution of nothing & overdosed before they’d ever get big.

Thank you for the music, HMV, but we don’t need you any more | Penny AndersonHigh-street super chains are a thing of the past, but smaller record shops will survive, says the writer and artist Penny Anderson We should be supporting high street shopping / retailers as we know them... Somewhat ignorant puff piece - true music stores fleeced customers with high margins on cd's. Failed to see or turned a blind eye to the rise of sdigital downloads. HMV had decent buyers in the non chart related genres. The vinyl revolution is over blown, prices are excessive. A bit of a snotty article.
