Just moments after wrapping up her first in-personin Washington, D.C. last November, the 31-year-old started working on her latest collection, "Live Out Loud." Mvuemba is now taking her digital production to the next level by adding real-life models into the equation. The new collection showcases an array of vibrant colors, bold textiles, and festive designs — 28 of them, to be exact.
This time, Mvuemba's team gathered in an almost pitch-black production studio in Brooklyn and created pure magic on a giant stage flooded with water and a rotating green-screen treadmill. While the preparation for this collection began months ago, the actual casting and production all happened in the span of one week, which was exhilarating yet tiring for Mvuemba and her team.
“I will say the good thing about doing digital shows is that it gives a lot more prep time,” lead makeup artistsays. “But the thing with digital shows that we've noticed is that we'll do a look and then it will look one way in person but on camera it won’t read the same. So those are the kinds of things you have to kind of take into account with digital shows because the lighting really affects everything.”From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Hanifa production team huddled across the room.
