Maura says she felt she had 'no choice'

Maura Derrane is much like every other mother in Ireland, living in a constant balancing act between motherhood and work, often sacrificing one for the other.

If the show was filmed in Dublin, Maura said she would have loved to maintain the same schedule and didn’t necessarily want to cut back on work, but she felt it was the necessary thing to do for her family. “I think women, when you have kids, you kind of lose yourself. You have to work a bit harder at it,” she told the Sunday Independent.
