Ncuti Gatwa may be the talk of the town as the new Time Lord, taking over in Doctor Who from Jodie Whittaker, but the star has insisted he won’t be giving away any spoilers DoctorWho

announced as the 14th Doctor todaySpeaking after the Doctor Who announcement, in a video shared by the official Bafta account on Twitter, Ncuti said: ‘I’m quite good, I don’t like to spoil things for others.

‘If I know someone is going to watch something I won’t say nothing, I won’t talk about, I’ll let them watch it by themselves.’ The Sex Education actor, who rose to fame in his role as Etic Effiong, is nominated in the best male performance in a comedy programme at the Bafta TV Awards today. Ncuti up against Stath Lets Flats’ Jamie Demetriou, Steve Coogan and Tim Renkow for his role in Jerk.‘There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling,’ Gatwa said of his new role. ‘A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared.

‘This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care.
