MELBOURNE : The Canterbury Crusaders underlined their status as Super Rugby Pacific favourites in the second round as the Wellington Hurricanes pulled off a great escape against the Auckland Blues.
The Crusaders, who beat the Wellington Hurricanes 42-32 in round one, moved to second on the table, level on nine points with the leading ACT Brumbies. Hurricanes winger Salesi Rayasi was instrumental in the win, grabbing a hat-trick of tries, including two back-to-back to open the door for Savea's winner.
The undefeated Reds' win put them third on the table, two points ahead of the fourth-placed Waratahs.
