Southern is, perhaps, best known for her promotion of conspiracy theories, but the topic of the planned UBC event was her recent short film called "Canadian Mass Grave Hoax," which posits that discoveries of unmarked graves at former residential school sites have been faked or exaggerated.

Personally, I think the government knew if, what, and where long ago. I think they chose to release this information at a time where they needed to distract people's attentions elsewhere. I never believed the 'oooh! Look what we just accidently found!' narrative or the asskissing

This borders on disinformation . The New York Times and CNN inaccurately called them 'mass graves' - nothing wrong with pointing out this is misleading or even a 'hoax' in the definition of the word. This claim isn't controversial.

Needs real bodies or it is a sham. No one really knows how the little folks died if they are there at all.? Currently its hear say saw maybe but nothing real. Untill then its all speculation. Being white in schools in the 50s 60s was toxic.

What's the big deal about unmarked graves? There are unmarked graves all over, especially in old unkept cemetaries, white or native. I also understand that many were marked originally but then were not maintained or were even destroyed by developers.
