Premier Gladys Berejiklian has defended temporary restrictions imposed in response to two COVID infections, saying they are “extremely proportionate” and “nothing like” the response of the Palaszczuk or McGowan governments. The NSW government has reimposed a mandatory mask mandate on all indoor venues as well as restrictions on household gatherings after the state recorded one additional case of community transmission overnight.
