‘The older viewers have their certain traditional ways about it all'

The former judge – who left the Strictly panel in 2016 – thinks two women dancing together will confuse audiences over a certain age.

‘A lot of older people are traditionalists – they used to go ballroom dancing and most people’s nans and grandads met probably in a dance hall,’ he saidTalking to the , he continued: ‘But look – I suppose the good thing is that most older people I don’t think vote, so it won’t matter much in that way.’The announcement Olympic boxer Nicola would be paired with a female partner has already been struck with backlash before she’s even taken to the dancefloor.Graziano and Johannes’s routine sparked complaints from Strictly fans in 2019

In a statement, the broadcaster said: ‘Strictly Come Dancing is an inclusive show and is proud to have featured same sex dancing amongst the professional dancers in group numbers in previous series. ‘We have stated, in the past, that we are open to the prospect of including same-sex pairings between our celebrities and professional dancers, should the opportunity arise.‘The show is first and foremost about dance, the sex of each partner within a coupling should have no bearing on their routine.

The change will certainly make things hard to judge!

The heterophobic bigots still don’t like the truth and are still harassing people.

Just because “we always accepted sexist behaviour and sexual predators, and racism in the organisation, we always have to” type of an argument... Outdated organisation with outdated views. Wake up.

The older viewers that you know! because you don't speak for all 'older' viewers.

I’ve never known of such shite peddled for such a long time. Everybody is BORED to tears. Move on. Ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️.

You been on a coach holiday weekend? Women dancing with women everywhere n some dirty jokes.

Turn off many others also, like Gream Norton, he's against it also, and guess what? He's a homosexual so what does that tell you BBCOne

“Some old people are bigots”

How right you are! Even as a gay guy of a certain age it is uncomfortable to watch and patronising just as if bbcstrictly are trying to be too PC and tick their “diversity” boxes.

The bigoted heterophobes types will likely object to any objection.

Rule 1. Don't stop doing something because it offends bigots and homophobes. They can either watch and waste time moaning and whingeing or find something else to watch. Simple.

Keeping older folk happy and the rate of viewers up - that's the important concern here

After years of diversity supremacism I wouldn't be surprised if there were no television programs left with white straight Brits only in them - and if there were they would be portrayed in an unfavourable light.

Oh no! That's the whole audience

Nicola's a nice person but I imagine this will put off more viewers than it attracts, among the show's core traditionalists at least.
