These are NOT antiquated guidelines. Since HIV et al are VERY high in viral load in the blood, and fragile anal tissue is torn easily during anal sex, those partaking are ar higher risk for infection . Abstain, you slut, if you want to donate. IV drug users have same issue.

Agreed... I wanted to give blood for years and haven’t been able to because I’ve had sex with my same sex husband in the past 6/3 months even though We’ve been in a married/ Monogamous relationship for more than 18 years .

It’s not the only “antiquated” reason a person can’t donate blood in this country. Anyone who was even in the UK for a minute, let alone lived there, during the mad cow disease outbreak, cannot give blood in the U.S. And that was decades ago.
