Actor Tony Hale stops by TODAY to discuss his new Netflix show “The Decameron” and his adventures around Rome where the series was shot. He also looks back on one of his first roles on “The Sopranos,” opens up on how he copes with anxiety, and reveals what it was like working with Beyoncé on the Verizon Super Bowl commercial.

Tony Hale 'fit right in' carrying Beyoncé's fur in their 2024 Super Bowl ad. They starred in a Verizon ad that aired during the big game on Feb. 11 in which Beyoncé resorted to lavish stunts in an effort to break the phone company's signal while Hale reported back on whether she was successful. She was not and ultimately announced her new album, 'Cowboy Carter,' as her Hail Mary.

'My wife is a makeup artist, so she was doing my makeup for the day and we just had a front row seat to, like, the amazing show.' He said he saw 'the machine around' her when working together. 'Sometimes when you're dealing with that kind of status, you never know which direction,' he said. 'People, sometimes, they have an arrogance to them. She was just the opposite.' Hale wasn't nervous to work with Beyoncé, he said.
